Why it beats a room in town
  • Five minutes to the field — you can be wheels-up in the first calm air after sunrise
  • Whole house to yourselves: no hosts on site, no shared kitchen, no motel corridor
  • Wide open waterfront lawn and gazebo for laying out and packing a wing
  • Quiet dead-end street, so a 5:30 alarm doesn't cost you the night before
  • Full kitchen — a 10-day course is a lot of meals to buy out
  • Ductless mini-split A/C in every room plus ceiling fans, individual control per bedroom
  • Private dock, kayaks and paddleboards for the afternoon when the wind picks up

The dock was perfect, had a lot of space, and we even fished a couple of times and caught some fish.

Luis · Stayed with kids · May 2026

We especially loved having access to the private dock, and the open floor plan made the space feel comfortable and inviting.

Natalie · Stayed with a pet · March 2026

We loved the panoramic view of the river and being able to walk out on the dock

Course week

Ten days of training, one calm base

Paramotor training here runs on dawn and dusk air, which means very early mornings and a long middle of the day waiting on the wind. Being five minutes from the field changes that week: you drive out for first light, come back for breakfast and a nap, and go again in the evening — instead of sitting in a parking lot. Bring a partner or a training buddy and the house splits three ways without anyone sleeping on a couch. Season pilots, instructors and returning students: message us and we will quote a special rate for the block you need.

Questions

Paramotor stays FAQ

How far is the house from Valkaria Airport?

About 3 miles and 5 minutes. Valkaria Airport (X59) is at 500 Valkaria Rd in Grant-Valkaria — the same small town as the house, which is at 6910 US-1. It is the closest lodging situation you will find to that field.

Is this a good base for a paramotor training course?

Yes. Paramotor Orlando runs foot-launch training at Valkaria Airport with small classes and about 25+ flights over roughly 10 days. Ten-plus nights in a whole house with a kitchen, laundry and driveway space works out better than a motel room for that kind of block.

Do you have a special rate for a 10-day course or a season block?

We do. Course-length and monthly stays — especially November through April — are quoted case by case. Message us with your dates and we will send you a special price.

Can I lay out and pack a wing at the house?

There is a wide open waterfront lawn plus a gazebo, so there is plenty of room to lay out, inspect and pack. All flying, launching and training happens at the airport, not on the property.

Is there room for a truck, van or trailer?

Yes. There is driveway and yard space for a truck, a van or a gear trailer for the length of your stay.

Can I bring my dog while I'm training for the week?

Two dogs are welcome, no size or breed limit, $100 per dog per stay. Dogs can't be left alone in the house, so plan the training day around that.

What does a tandem paramotor flight cost if we're not training?

Paramotor Orlando lists an instructional tandem flight at $195 for about 15 minutes of air time, open to riders roughly 80–230 lbs, with helmet and gear provided. Prices, weather calls and scheduling are theirs — book directly at paramotororlando.com or call (407) 820-4162.
