The dock was perfect, had a lot of space, and we even fished a couple of times and caught some fish.

We especially loved having access to the private dock, and the open floor plan made the space feel comfortable and inviting.

Questions

Pet policy FAQ

Is Sunrise on the River really dog-friendly, or just dog-tolerant?

Dog-friendly. Two dogs are welcome with no size or breed limit, the fee is $100 per dog per stay, up to two dogs, rather than per pet per night, and we keep bowls and an outdoor rinse hose for muddy paws. Dogs are not allowed on the beds or the furniture. A large share of our repeat guests travel with dogs.

How much is the pet fee?

$100 per dog per stay, up to two dogs. It is charged once per stay, never per night.

Is the yard fenced?

No. The yard is open waterfront lawn with a gazebo and fire pit. Most guests use a lead or a temporary tie-out for the yard, then walk the quiet neighbourhood streets. If your dog cannot be trusted off-leash near water, plan accordingly.

Can my dog swim in the Indian River Lagoon?

Yes, from the shoreline at the edge of our seawall — that is where most dogs go in and out easily. Rinse them with fresh water afterwards; the lagoon is brackish. Avoid letting a dog drink lagoon water, and keep them out during a visible algae bloom.

Where is the nearest dog beach?

Canova Beach Park in Indialantic, about 40 minutes north, is the only designated off-leash dog beach in Brevard County. Dogs are not permitted on the beach or in the water at Sebastian Inlet State Park.

Can I leave my dog alone in the house?

No. Dogs should not be left alone in the house at any time.

Are cats or other pets allowed?

Ask us. The policy above is written for dogs; we consider other pets case by case before booking rather than after arrival.
