Sebastian Inlet's north beach is our favorite. Melbourne Beach and Vero Beach are 20 minutes north and south for a change of scene.

Local tip · Park at the northernmost lot for the shortest walk. Best surf is a NE swell + light SW wind.

Long, walkable beach with easier surf and a swimming area. Dolphins in the inlet on outgoing tides; pelicans dive-bombing all day.

Local tip · The south jetty walk at sunset is the best free date-night in the county.

One of the most important sea turtle nesting beaches in the western hemisphere. Loggerhead, green, and leatherback nests May–Oct. Ranger-led turtle walks in June/July (reserve months ahead).

Local tip · Never use a white flashlight after dark May–Oct — red-filter only. Nesting mothers are easily spooked.
