Sebastian Inlet's north beach is our favorite. Melbourne Beach and Vero Beach are 20 minutes north and south for a change of scene.
Uncrowded Atlantic beach next to First Peak, Florida's most famous surf break. Restrooms, showers, snack bar, snorkel spots around the jetty.

Wide public beach with a small walkable downtown one block west (Melbourne Beach Publix, Chill Bar, Sun on the Beach cafe).
Local tip · Free parking on side streets; metered near the boardwalk. Best sunrise photo spot in town.
The classic Vero beach experience — boardwalk, Ocean Drive shops, restaurants across the street, lifeguards, playground.
Local tip · Walk 3 blocks north to Waldo's on the beach for beer and a burger with sand between your toes.
One of the most important sea turtle nesting beaches in the western hemisphere. Loggerhead, green, and leatherback nests May–Oct. Ranger-led turtle walks in June/July (reserve months ahead).
Local tip · Never use a white flashlight after dark May–Oct — red-filter only. Nesting mothers are easily spooked.
The quietest beach access in the region. No lifeguards, no crowds, just a small parking lot and a boardwalk. Loggerhead nesting central May–October.
Local tip · The 5-minute walk south from the parking lot puts you on 2 miles of empty sand. Bring water — no facilities.
Small county park with a boardwalk to the beach, picnic pavilion, restrooms, outdoor shower. Rarely more than 20 cars in the lot.
Local tip · The best beach for a small dog walk at dawn — 4-legged rules from sunrise to 9am, sunset to 10pm.
Rare combo — Atlantic surf on one side of A1A, and the manatee-refuge Round Island Riverside Park on the other. Snorkeling reef 50 yards offshore.
Local tip · Combine sides for a full day: manatees in the morning, ocean afternoon. Bring a mask for the reef.
